Oakmont operates a community program where residents can contribute to their community through volunteer-oriented service.
Oakmont of Santa Clarita routinely hosts charity events in the Santa Clarita community where residents of the senior living community can get involved in their community with a new philanthropic theme each quarter.
In June, Oakmont organized June Bloom, an art show in partnership with the Santa Clarita Artists Association.
The event featured live musical entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and drinks and displayed artwork from 20 local artists.
During Oakmont’s last quarter, which was centered around pets, residents made dog beds and volunteered at the animal shelter, partnering with Shelter Hope Pet Shop Santa Clarita.

According to Oakmont of Santa Clarita’s marketing director, Mary Dembkowski, the program’s core element lies in connecting residents with their community.
The recent quarter concluded with a pet adoption event hosted by Oakmont of Santa Clarita.
Other past community projects have included making blankets for children in need, which were then donated to Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley.
As the summer series concludes, Oakmont Contributes’ focus will shift to veterans.
“Now we’re on to ‘Giving Back To Our Veterans,’ so on July 29 we are hosting a classic car show and barbeque at Oakmont, Saturday, July 29, at 10 in the morning,” Dembkowski announced.
Proceeds from the car show will go to The Wounded Warriors Project, a nonprofit organization that provides free programs and services to address the needs of wounded warriors and aids in the gaps existing in the government care system.
In addition to the ‘Giving Back To Our Veterans’ series, Oakmont is also set to participate in the Walk To End All Alzheimer’s, which is scheduled to take place on October 7 at Bridgeport Park.
Staff and residents of Oakmont of Santa Clarita have created “Team Oakmont” to participate in the walk and have a goal to raise $5,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
